HOW TO STAY HUMAN
ANOTHER KIND OF SEMINAR ABOUT OUR DIFFERENCES
Several speakers will briefly share their views of how to stay human.
The theme will be our idea of what is involved in staying human: courage, art, compassion, science, detachment, religion, faith, fairness, creativity and the ideas, ethics and activities that we think matter.
Along with or after each contribution, including those from the audience, we will make a
continuous wall map of the direction and flow of the discussion.
The wall maps help us listen, join in and debate.
We will use them to search for common ground whilst valuing differences.
We will end by filming and photographing the wall map with our cameras and phones for the record.
Speakers include:
• Steve Potter: Staying human in a brilliant and borderline world
• Dr Avril Danczak: Beyond Science; experience, thinking, synthesis
• Ari Azabanee: Diversity and difference and how it should bring us together
• Cheryl Delisser: My map of Salford: mapping class backgrounds
• Stephanos Spirakis: Projects for a Shared City
The ideas behind this workshop have been developed from philosophy, psychotherapy, performing arts, developing a more relationally intelligent world and peace psychology.
