The Agency For Architectural Investigation is an ongoing project by Jennie Savage
which attempts to find ways of deciphering 'the city'-
deconstructing the ways that cities manipulate our behavior
whilst simultaneously exploring our personal responses to the experience of place.
During 12/12/12 Jennie Invites 6 people to take a 30 minute walk with her in Manchester City Centre.
Through conversation we will create a document that represents the
moment of the walk and reveals something of the way that we have experienced the city.

About Jennie Savage:
Jennie Savage is an artist who seeks to transform people’s perception of place through the creation of mediated experiences. Working Site specifically she explores the place between public spaces, town planning, constructed landscapes and the human story: the lived lives and personal narratives connected to those sites. Working through a process that uses archiving and intervention she seeks to map the other life of a place or community in order to reveal a complex situation, a micro- structure or simply an unheard voice. Primarily a sound artist her projects take many forms and have included a radio station, a bus tour, audio walks, a cinema for the sea, online projects, and artist film made for site specific exhibition. She has published 3 books, ‘Nutopia: Envisioning future cities’, co editied with Malcolm Miles (2012) 'Depending on Time' (2009) and 'STAR: A psychotopography of place' 2006 and has taught at Art colleges over the last ten years, currently working as an associate lecturer at UAL.
